University Students Choir
Staccato is a choir of university students. Its repertoire is wide and diverse, with A Cappella music from the 20th and 21st Centuries particularly standing out. The chorus is constantly seeking out new, avant-garde pieces, in keeping with the University’s spirit of innovation.
In Mexico, the ensemble maintains an intense presence in the University’s cultural life, while it also performs in some of most diverse concert venues, and in cultural festivals throughout the country. In addition, it has performed in the international festivals: Universitas Cantat 2007, in Poznan, Poland; 50th International Choral Festival 2007 in Jhilava, Czech Republic and America Cantat 2010, in Juiz de Fora, Brazil. It has also performed in some different cities in Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Italy, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. In 2012 Staccato participated in the International Choir Festival Tonen2000 in Naaldwijk-Netherlands, and in the Rimini International Choral Competition, in Rimini-Italy, where it was awarded one gold and five silver diplomas.
